Advanced dental training has never before combined critical clinical training, specialized practice management, and a synchronized marketing team under one roof for 3 days. Implant manufacturers present stated they had never witnessed a dental event in any city to rival Dr. Ron Zokol\'s Pacific Implant Institute Practice Management Seminar in Vancouver, Canada during the past month.
Dr. Bill Blatchford - world renowned dental coach (www.blatchford.com) literally \'sliced and diced\' traditional dental management theories. Virtually all practices are operating in the dark ages when it comes to business management systems, and some dentists are literally going broke hanging on to their 1970\'s methods. For example, dental implants are growing at approx. 20% per year in North America, and these newly minted implant dentists are poised to reap the rewards with advanced management training. They better have the internal programs to maximize this opportunity, says Blatchford.
Bryce Gibney of Aden Marketing Inc. (www.adenmarketing.com) demonstrated in his workshop that at least 95% of existing dental advertisements are a misappropriation of practice capital. Many general practice dentists devote virtually all valuable practice hours on \"drill, fill, and bill\" activities, while their patient base is simply not receiving the appropriate information on alternatives for optimum oral health. As Gibney put it - \"either you earn your patient\'s business in advanced dental procedures or your competitor down the block surely will\".
One prominent dentist in attendance stated that \"this is the first time my entire team has been able to get on board with any management idea\". The difference is that everything from the time a patient walks into the front door until they walk out with their new dental work is a marketing function. Each position in the practice from Reception/Administration to Dental Hygienist had their own breakaway training sessions at this event to develop a true team effort. They are all virtually selling dentistry as well as the treatment case coordinator, but until now no educational facility recognized the need for a triple focused training session.
Advanced dental training is being demanded from a savvy and discerning public. The general public, particularly the Baby Boomers, are not enthusiastic about putting their teeth in a glass of water on the bedside table at night. Dental implants and new techniques now make these procedures both cost effective and comfortable compared with traditional crown and bridgework, not to mention offering significant advantages from an overall health viewpoint.
